Good Morning

Today is Saturday, June 28th. We have completely

sold out of blueberries today. Hopefully will be picking

them again in a few days. Please check back for availability.

We are, however, still picking strawberries and selling

them by the quart.

Berry Update

Today is Friday, June 27th. We will not be picking 

blueberries today, but will be picking on Saturday,

June 28th beginning at 9:00 AM. 

We have been picking blueberries for three weeks now

and will hopefully have them for one more week.

Our blackberries are still red, but getting darker each day.

We will update when they are ready for you to pick.

We pick strawberries daily and have them available for you

to purchase by the quart.

Our blackberries are still not ready for you to pick. However, 

we do have blueberries available for picking. This week we will be open Thursday and Saturday for blueberry 

picking as well as selling prepicked blueberries by the pint.

 

We continue to pick hydroponic strawberries each day and have them available to sell by the quart.

Well, it won't be too much longer until we open our 

berry farm to "you pickers!"

 

New to our farm for you pickers this year are blueberries. 

These plants were put in the ground 3 years ago and are finally producing enough to welcome you to pick your own.If you pick your blueberries, they are $3.50 per pound.If we pick the blueberries for you, they are $3.50 per pint or $7.00 per quart.Hopefully the blueberries will be ready by the first part of July.

Also available again this season are our blackberries. 

These berries should be ready for you 

to pick the end of June.

The blackberries are $3.50 per pound 

if you pick them. 

They are  $7.00 per quart if we pick them.    

Our outdoor hydroponic strawberries were planted

last week and will be ready for us to pick for you by the end of June. We will be offering our strawberries for $6.00 per quart. You will need to call us in advance to place your orders for the strawberries.

We will have tomatoes for sale again this year. 
We pick the tomatoes and sell them them for 
$1.50 per pound or $35.00 per bushel.You need

to call to place your order for tomatoes by 

the bushel.

We supply all containers for picking your berries. Children are welcome to pick with adult supervision.

And, we need to remind everyone that we are proud to say, 

we use NO pesticides on any of our produce.

Hillside Acres is a family owned and operated produce farm located in the City of Staunton, VA. In 1966 we started farming with livestock for our children to show at local stock yard sales and 4-H groups in school. Then in 2000, we started our produce farming. 

Hillside Acres offers Blackberries beginning in June of each year.  Strawberries are grown in outside hydroponic pots and are not "you pick" berries. Call for availability of strawberries and to place your orders. New to our berry line up this year are blueberries. We planted them 3 years ago and are picking our first ones this week. Call for availability. On the veggie side of the spectrum, we offer several varieties of tomatoes. 

Our berry operation is on a "you pick" or "we pick" basis. However, the "we pick" berries are by pre-order only. We supply all containers for picking your berries. Children are welcome to pick with adult supervision.
